Proof of Canadian Citizenship/Passport for our son

Good Day! Or, evening. ;D I'm a newbie in this forum, and so I am not sure if my concern/s had already been discussed in the previous topic/threads. (OK, will reserve my welcome rah-rah for later from you guys. :p hahahah. kidding!)

But anyways, here is my concern. We are under Family Class Sponsorship. My husband is the one sponsoring me and my son. He is a Canadian, and I'm a Filipina. We got married March of 2011, filed our application on July of 2012. Our Sponsorship Approval was October of the same year, due to the late Medical Exams. We got our passport request last April 16 this year, 2013.

So, we were expecting a realistic 30 to 45 days after our PPR for them to make a decision. But, one month had passed, we heard nothing from them. I decided to sent them an email, asking about our application status. 10 days after I sent the email, they replied telling me that they are still waiting for my complete medical results, and my son's proof of Canadian Citizenship or passport. Now, this got me so frustrated cause we thought we could file his citizenship later when we got there in Canada.

I called St. Lukes Manila for my medical results, and they told me that they already had sent my complete results last March 28. I sent another email to inform them about what I've learned and also to ask what are we going to do for my son's proof of citizenship. But we hear nothing from them.

So, the hubby decided to just file a certificate of citizenship for our lil guy. I've heard the waiting period for them to grant our application for his citizenship certificate will take 6 months. Which made me so frustrated again. :(

Here are my question/s:

1. My husband requested a 'rush' for our son's certificate, do you think we can have that less than 6 months?

2. Or, after they receive our son's documents, can we show the Embassy of Manila that we filed his citizenship? Will they give my lil guy some temporary visa or passport?

3. Or, if there is such thing as temporary visa or passport-- what can we do to obtain it for my son? BTW, my son is just under 2 years old. :)

Thank you in advance to all those who will reply. :) It'll be soooooooooooooooo much appreciated. xoxo

1. Unlikely that a rush will be put on the proof of citizenship, your husband should have submitted it when the child was born, you can't just "Now, this got me so frustrated cause we thought we could file his citizenship later when we got there in Canada. "
2. Manila can issue a facilitation visa F-1 for the child if he has a Filipino passport. They can also issue a limited validity passport if he is under 2 with proof of the submission for the "proof of citizenship" But he has to be under 2 when you husband applies for it.

Thank you so much for the reply. ;) Apparently, me and the hubby were all new to this, so we'd decided to just go with flow. But I just realized that gathering via reading infos from people who had been in this situation would be a big help. Oh well! Lesson Learned. ;)

Anyways, he is still under two when the hubby files his proof of citizenship. He also has Philippine passport, but I sent it together with all the additional documents they asked for me to comply when my passport request arrives. Can I still apply him for the F-1 or the limited validity passport, Sir/Ma'am? Thank you so much! I was so delighted when I saw your reply. :) mwah
