Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I have a hypothetical question. If I were a food and beverage server in a small restaurant (noc 6453), on a valid work permit, and had a chance to be promoted to a food service supervisor (noc 6311) or assistant restaurant manager (noc 0631), would I still be allowed to serve?
The thing is, it's a really small restaurant with 2 full time servers which both have days off and some part time servers and there are situations when I should serve. For example, If staff members are absent due to illness or other reasons (days off, whatever). So technically, I should be able to get tips and serve whenever we are understaffed, which occurs very often.
My Imm connsultant is not sure that it would be fine for me to serve if promoted. Can you please advise me? And/or point me to legislative literature that covers the matter, since noc explanations of the mentioned positions do not state or explicitly allow/forbid serving.

Thank you kindly

1. To start with your employer would have to get a new LMO after advertising the position and you would require a new work permit.
2. I think that it may also be difficult to obtain a LMO for a restaurant as a supervisor where there are only 2 full time employees plus, I assume a Manager.
3. I doubt if anyone would check to see if you are working as a server some times.
