Hi,
Am a Programmer ( Web Engineer ) from Singapore. I want to migrate to Canada. I took the self assessment test from http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/immigrate/skilled/assess/Education.asp and got through. If anyone knows any consultants in Singapore who can help me migrate and find a job in Canada, please let me know. I don't want to move to Canada before I get a job there.
Thanks

Singapore is a visa exempt country for Canada. If you can get a return ticket to and from Canada, as well as a job to go back to with your current employer vouching for that in a certified /notarized letter, then you can visit Canada for business and for pleasure.

You are initially allowed to visit for 6 months. During your visit, you can meet with potential employers about filing an LMO for you to get a work permit. Then upon your return to Singapore, if you were successful in getting a positive LMO for a work permit, then you can apply for your TRV to enter and remain in Canada to accommodate the length of your work permit.

And then, you can always send your immigration application in as well. So, that means you can be working in Canada temporarily until your immigration is finalized. Mind you, visiting Canada does not guarantee anything - it only serves as a way for you to see what you are up against in Canada should you choose to immigrate.

Another Option: Rather than spending the money on an air ticket to go to Canada for a visit, you can always see if you can find an employer through this link: http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/intro_en.aspx

You want to leave Singapore? I know many Singaporeans who left for Canada and finally returned. Are you sure you want to leave?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
it is better if you find job online first, many companies in Canada can sponsor you and give you an LMO so you can arrange your papers and work in Canada legally.
