Hi
It would be a better idea to ask for all the documentation which CIC asks only later on when RQ is issued at the initial phase when an application is filed. This will help to reduce the processing time.
Why not make RQ a part of application when an initial citizenship application is filed.
This will help CIC to make decision on an application in one go and not sit on an application for ever and increase their backlog. It's like looking at the same application twice and why not ask the applicants to submit applications to their local office directly instead of sending it to centralized office.
Once an applicant knows that following documents are required then he can always collect them in advance and submit it in one go instead of waiting for 25 months and then facing hard time collecting them when an RQ is issued...
It would also be a better idea to give appointments to applicants at local office (when local offices are ready to accept more applications) and ask them to file their application on that particular date and time and process their application within a much shorter time instead of applicant sending them when they become eligible on their own and applicant waiting endlessly...this will at least cut down the uncertainty as to when an application will be processed.
Once a local office gives the appointment the applicant can be sure that his/her applications can be processed within the shortest possible time as local CIC office has the resources to process the application and hence have given the date and time to accept application.
Any thoughts from fellow prospective citizens will also be highly appreciated and maybe we can try and put these recommendations along with other recommendations to CIC and see how it helps in reducing processing times and uncertainty.
Thanks
