Did anyone noticed that the processing time for inland application has increased?? For spousal sponsorship !
It was always 6 months for first step and 8 months for second step, but I checked yesterday and the first step became 10 months all of a sudden !!!
Would anyone know the reason for that??? That's horrible :-[

It's probably because of the strike that's going on.

Absolutely outrageous !! Total year and a half of waiting, when so far it took 8-10 months in total !!

It can be due to a number of reasons. Increase applications submitted during the Sept-October months since most marriages occured during the summer months. However the 4-5 months stop on Oct 5-12 doesn't justify this excuse. I think the strike is affecting the process as they are likely supporting their co-workers strike outside Canada and on purposely slowing down the process in unannoucement support.

Since there was a 4-5 months delay, the 10 months wait list does reflect today's actual wait times. I do think that the 10 month will drop slowly back to the usual 6 months once the strike is over.
