Am an outland PR (UK citizen) application, being sponsored by my Canadian spouse. Applied early October 2024; have completed AOR, SA eligibility approval, Eligibility approval, Medical and Biometrics completed. Application is at the BGC stage.
I Asked way back for IRCC to send me a request letter for a Kong Kong police clearance certificate (only way HK will issue a clearance certificate is if they receive request from IRCC). I received the request a couple of days ago and saw that my application is now being handled by the Mississauga Case Processing Centre office, being moved from Sydney. Not sure why this happened as lots of people seem to get their approval from Sydney?
I read in a post that Mississauga deals with spousal applications and tends to move faster than some of the other centres. Hope so, as we are retiring summer 2025 and our goal is to move to Canada. Having lived and worked as a teacher in 6 countries, the background check will take time I fear.
Anyone had experience of the Mississauga CPC and experience of Background Check timelines when multiple countries are involved, (England, Cyprus, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Luxembourg & UAE)? Police clearance certificates (all bar Hong Kong which is now in process) have been submitted.
