Hello all,

Could you please someone summarize what are the steps of LMIA?
What are the critical points of obtaining a positive LMIA?
What to do and what not to do?
Reasons for refusal?

If someone has the the TOTAL picture of this process please share.

Thanks,
exp7

1. Your employer must apply for LMIA
2. They must have an ad for your position up on Job Bank and two other national websites 4 weeks before they apply and must run for the duration of the process.
3. After the 4 week ad posting the process will take another 3 months minimum to complete
4. Your employer must provide documented proof that they tried to hire Canadians for your position
5. They must also produce as transition plan to show how they will look to hire a Canadian in the future.
6. Get your employer to go through a consultant or lawyer.......
