All - I have a quick question - I m Indian citizen, obtained Canada ICT Work Permit as well as Visitor Visa for my Spouse. I was told that there is a process to convert Spouse Visitor Visa to Open Work Permit(Employer-Independent) @ Port of Entry by paying necessary fees. Kindly advise if anyone has been through this process - Highlight if there are any risk of rejection associated with the same. Thanks in Advance!

As she requires a TRV, she does not qualify to apply for an OWP at a POE. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=171&top=17
She can apply to change her status once she is in Canada.
Thank you for response. For change in status, do I need to apply for her under my GCKey or a new GCKey will be required for her. Whats the approximate approval time in the normal scenario, when you apply from Canada.
