I just saw your reponses to questions via pnp forums. please i need your help. i m a provincial nominee applicant . my status reads in process. i got a letter around july 2012 that i ad a misrepresentation of facts in my schedule 1 background information.tagged (procedurial fairness letter) i never stated that i has applied for a canada visa in my schedule 1 form. it as an oversight anyway when ticking thos columns . but the VO said he will give me an opportunity to correct the mistake WHICH I HAVE DONE AND SENT BACK TO THEM. They acknowledged this on around august as well. but up till now, i havent received any response. i emailed them last week. all i got was that i should be patient that the file in under review.

what do you think is at stake now?

which is the question that you ticked incorrectly? and which visa you had applied in the past?

Yes, It was a visitor visa then, Actually i didnt read the questions carefully on that section, its on Schedule 1 background information, it was a serious oversight, unintentional oversight, you know questions like : have you involved in terrorrism, have you been in
volved in subversion, Normally one will be ticking NO, NO NO like that, but the VO was kind enough to give me an opportunity to correct this. here is the VO Response:

In your application submitted on 29 Dec 2010, you withheld or misrepresented the following information:

-You did not disclose having previously refused a temporary resident visa to Canada. Your signed and submitted Schedule 1 forms do not indicate any previous visa refusals, and you answered "no" to the question "have you ever been refused refugee status in, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa or visitor or temporary resident visa to, Canada or any other country...". Review of our records, however, indicate that you were previously refused a visitor visa at our office in Lagos on 30 October 2009.

Finally the VO concluded Here:

I would like to give you an opportunity to respond to this information. I will afford you 60 days from the date of this letter to make any representations in this regard. Please use the address noted on this letter for all correspondence, and clearly indicate your file number. If you do not respond to this request within the time outlined above, your application will be assessed based on the information available, which will likely result in a refusal.

Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.

This has been the case with a few others as well, i read on the forum...... when you answer "no" to questions in a serial order it tends to be "no" for all the questions.

Did it flag up at the CIO stage or at your local visa office? Was there a refusal stamp in your passport or did they find it from their data base?

Anyway, Thanks for sharing and wish you good luck. May the VO see your side of the explanation and you get through it.

Yes, they saw this from thier database in Ghana. not at the local visa office in lagos nigeria. yes there was a refusal stamp on my passort but my passport hasnt been requested for , so it must be from thier database in Ghana.

Well, i think since i was given a fresh opportunity, i think i m still considered because the VO said if i dont make the necessary corrections, the assessment could lead to a refusal. so i think they are helping me with guidlines and precautionary steps so as not to lead to the refusal. seems they also know that that particular section looks deceptive somehow jare..

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT WITH THIS AREA. MY NIGERIAN PASSPORT IS EXPIRING IN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS NOW. PRECISELY AUGUST 2013. AND CIC REQUIRES AT LEAST 6 MONTHS VALIDITY. PLEASE WHAT DO I DO NOW? CAN I REQUEST FOR PERMISSION FROM CIC IN ACCRA GHANA TO GO GET A NEW PASSPORT AND SEND A COPY OF THE BIODATA PAGE TO THEM? PLEASE ANYONE IN THIS SHOE CAN ASSIST ME IN EARNEST.

Schedule 1 Background / Declaration

To all members,

I am just new in this forum.I hope you could help me with my question.
I applied a tourist visa for USA 5 years ago and was denied for insufficient funds,do i need to declare it in the schedule 1 background declaration under MNP?I am preparing my papers for MNP online application.In schedule 1 form #9 states that:been refused refugee status in, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa or visitor or temporary resident visa to, Canada or any other country?
I got a new passport already and there was no mark at all in my new passport,what i think is that maybe they will check the USA database.
Hope anyone could give an advice regarding this.
