Procedure to get work permit within Canada?

I hope that is the right thread to ask my question.

I am a german citizen residing in Canada on a Visitor VISA and have applied for PR (family) and waiting for it to be processed.
I am right now in a situation where I got an job offer and wanted to ask what the regular procedure is to get a work permit?

Is it always necessary to have a LMO? If yes, how does the process with the LMO work for me and the employer?

I would really appreciate your help on this.

1. Yes, most jobs require a LMIA/LMO to get a work permit.
2. The employer advertises the job in at least 2 (some require 3 publications) including the job bank for 4 weeks.
3. After that the employer applies for a LMIA/LMO $1000 to EDHC for approval. Has to demonstrate that there are no Canadians/PRs available for the job and why those that applied aren't qualified.
4. If it is approved (6-16 weeks, depending on the province) then you could go the nearest Border point to apply for a work permit.
