Procedure for Medical and Estimated time

I had applied for a Work Permit End March and just got an email from Embassy requesting Medical Exam (I hope it is a positive sign).

I had applied to NDVO via VFS. Will VFS send the passport back to me as I need it for Medical ?

1) How long does it take for VFS to get you passport from CHC ? I ask this because I have not opted for courier service and will need to collect it from VFS office in Delhi.

2) Will I submit the passport back after the medical is done or do I have to wait for some email/letter from CHC requesting the passport ? When does this request come ?

3) How long does it take to get the Visa once Medicals are submitted. My employer wants to fly me the next/same day as he needs my expertise on a project and it is getting delayed.

I applied on 23rd March and Got the Medical Request on 13th May. (too long but at-least it was shorter than getting a LMIA.. LOL.

we applied online on 25th march and now its showing review of medicals review in progress..

If you dont mind can copy paste the matter what exactly they sent for the medical test. i hope after you submit the medicals you will get the visa. i think you dont need the passport just and id proof and passport copy is fine. thats what i heard from some ppl.

No. It is LMIA based, Took from Mid Oct to Mid Feb to get the LMIA.

I heard that passport is needed. I will call the doctor and check with him if any other ID can be used.

The letter says.

"These medical instructions are being issued since your application has been processed to the stage
where medical examination results are now required. Please read these instructions carefully.

IMPORTANT: You are required to undergo the medical examinations within 30 days of the date of this
letter. Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application.

The medical examination must be performed by a doctor from the CIC list of Panel Physicians.
You cannot choose your family doctor if his or her name is not on this list. See the list of Panel Physicians to
find a doctor in your area at: LINK REMOVED

Once you identify a panel physician in your area, book an appointment for your medical examination.
When you schedule your appointment, please ensure that arrangements are made for your chest x-ray
and laboratory tests as well. Once your medical has been completed the doctor will forward the medical
results to CIC.

Any costs related to the medical examination are your responsibility and are payable at the time of the
examination. Should your application be refused following the completion of your medical examination
these costs will not be refunded.

Please bring the following to your appointment:
- The attached Medical Report form (IMM1017E)
- Proper identification (proof of identity must include at least one government-issued document
with photograph and signature, such as a passport or national identity card)
- Eye glasses or contact lenses, if worn
- Any medical reports or test results that you may have as a result of previous or existing
medical conditions
- Four recent photographs (photos are not required if the panel physician is listed as “eMedical
enabled” on the CIC website listed above)

Note: It is important that you inform the panel physician of any previous or existing medical conditions.
Failure to do so will delay the processing of your medical examination.

we did not submit any upfront medicals when we call the lawyer he said they will send the medical request soon it seems. But my wife done her medicals 1 year ago in March which is now expired.
My wife applied spouse open work permit it's an online application made from canada but my wife is in india.

It seems like you do not need passport for medical. I had my medical done today and all they needed was copy of passport and medical request form. Even VFS does not send you the passport back for medical. I hope that everything else goes well and I can join the project in Canada soon.

Now medical is done at Pune. Not sure how long they take to upload the reports to CIC.

Now medical is done at Pune. Not sure how long they take to upload the reports to CIC.
And how long it takes after that.

12 days is awesome. Was it for a Work Permit ??

Yes it was ICT Work permit (LMIA Exempt)
