Some info for LPN's here: http://www.cicic.ca/684/Practical_Nurses.canada?prof=3233

For RN's here: http://www.cicic.ca/684/Registered_Nurses.canada?prof=3152

Looking at this website, it seems there are exams to be taken for both but from what I've heard, it is not supposed to be a big deal to get certified as an LPN.

From nurses I know personally in Canada, they said that RN is standardized across Canada so once you are an RN, you are an RN in every province while LPN is not standardized and you would have to get licensed in every province you want to work in. However, if you were already licensed as an LPN in one province, getting licensed in the next one could be as easy as going to their association, showing your papers and they approve.

I suggest you contact the association of LPN's in the province you want to work and ask them if you need to take this exam and if you can get certified from your home country.
