Problems with TAX/NOA for CEC!

So I am eligible for the CEC, I have racked up the hours but I face a problem. I've been working on a 2 year work visa and have been employed since November 2011. I now qualify for 1 years experience with all the hours calculated. However I have not even done my tax returns for the three months I worked (end of 2011), which really comes down to 100 bucks I will get back... Before I thought it's no problem I will do it together with my 2012 taxes since I wasn't planning on doing any sort of immigration but now I found out I can apply for residency but apparently I can't since I need something called a NOA.

I'm rather in a pickle with my situation, I've heard this can take up to 16 weeks to get back my NOA? I would really want to send my application asap but it seems the tax part is whats holding me back. From what it seems I would have to first file my 1st taxes, then wait 3-4 months then my 2nd taxes and wait another 3-4 months? Anybody can reassure me? By the way my work visa is up October as I'm going back home to do a masters.

That's true it takes around 3-4 months to recieve your notice of assessment (NOA) , perhaps you could do your both taxes at the same time. and Just wait once that period of months instead of being waiting twice.

cheers,

1- Submit your income tax return as soon as it starts on February, 2013....You might get your NOA within 4 to 6 weeks.

2- I assume this will be your 1st income tax return in Canada. 1st time you will have to send paper file. After that you can submit online. I think you should submit your 2011 income tax return now as CRA would be busy from next month. I hope you will be able to get your 2011 NOA by February. As a result, you will be able to submit your 2012 income tax return online. It usually takes 3 weeks to receive NOA once you submit online if everything is perfect. You can get more info from the following websites.
