Hi

Its not CIO who is wrong its your bank who didnt authorized the transaction. CIO just need to enter the card number, name on the card and card expiry date , if you have given all these details correct then CIO cant make a wrong attempt as there is no way for it. When they attempt to charged your card the bank needs to authorized and if they dont CIO will just receive declined transcation and now they will return your application.

Cheers

Rehaan,

What authorization number they are giving wrong ask this to your bank. If you have given correct details then it shouldnt create a problem. Are you sure you have given correct expiry date of the card and name on the card? Because this can be the only reason of wrong attempt.

I am sorry to say but since the new rules have came they are not giving any chance of sending the forms again they are just returning the full application. There is no solution but to wait until you receive your application back and then re-submit a new application if your NOC is still in the list.

Cheers

to active for particular transaction.

and my noc is 4131 so my chance is over noooooooooooooo. ;D
let me try with dubai call centre last time

then bye bye canada :(

But I think they should give one chance it can be any technical

I have checked with the bank they showed me all the log
that transaction is declined
and why transaction is declined because CIO are trying to enter
wrong CVV number

Bank manager was also surprised why they are giving CVV
number, when they did not ask you in the form it is required
only for Internet transaction otherwise no required

now what.

Thats pretty strange if they didnt ask any CVV number then why they are entering the one. Better to call them today and speak with them on this issue before they return your application. Tell them that they are doing the wrong transaction.

Saki,

This is because now many banks want the user to enter CVV number while doing an online/internet transaction. This number is printed on the back of your card.

It is not required when transaction is from a merchant machine.

CIO needs to update its forms to get CVV number from applicants.

Dear Rehan,
Try getting the proof (from your bank, signed by some bank authority) on the failed transaction from CIO.

If they do not try again (to charge processing fees) and return your file to you, then send back your file to CIO with the Notarized copy of that failed transaction's proof (with a cover-letter explaining the goof up from their side, requesting to accept ur file for assessment).

It is not your fault & they should accept your file for assessment.

Good Luck!

CVV number is not asked by CIO on the form. As for the banks, its not compulsory for merchants to give CVV no. Thats the only number protecting the privacy of your card. Therefore, as for merchants, I don't believe CVV number is not required at all.

Moreover, the bank said authorization code not CVV. I am assuming that its not the same. Moreover, if you notice the CIO form there is a column for 'Authorization code' and which is for official use only. I am sure this has nothing to do with the credit card transaction.

You definitely need to check with the bank about the policy of international transactions. Why it was declined. There has to and I repeat has to be a problem from the banks side. I am afraid this can result in the rejection of the application. But I believe this is the case for post-June 26 application.

The only solution I can think of is two fold, that is targetting both sides:

1) CIO: You have sent the CVV number to CIO for the same credit card. Assuming that the initial problem is from the bank's side, therefore ur sending the CVV will not help. I would suggest getting a draft ASAP and sending it to CIO. Of course, seniors would have a better opinion.
2) Bank: Don't just talk to the call-center folks, email and talking to a senior person in ur bank is what is required. These guys are talented in giving very very unique answers to customers. Write emails, visit the bank if required and get to the bottom of what the problem. If they are saying that the problem is authorization code. Then what is authorization code, are they talking about CVV or are they talking about the authorization code of the merchant (each merchant has their authorization code). If its the latter then its CIO's fault and therefore contact them ASAP via email about the situation and stating the fact that ur sending a draft. Show some committment towards Canada.

Seniors please advice if my opinion is fine.
