Hi
I got my CIC approval and advised to submit the documents to local visa office; we live in UK .My question is I am principal aplicant and when we send the documents to the CIC we put the my husband job tittle as a Security Guard (as he works in security industry),now we request his company to give us a reference letter and when we get a reference letter from the company they put the job tittle as Security officer ,we contact them and tell them the story but they say it is alright because both of these terms are interchangable and used for (MEN GUARDING) and it is not a problem, I have already check the some websites like wikipedia in which they also say these are both same terms/interchangable used for same thing.I check the oxford dictionary but their is no word as of (security officer) exist in the dictionary.but the word security guard is available.I have check some other online sources as well and find that they are using both words as (security guard or security officer) .can some body please help me on this issue will this cause any problem to my case or possibly confused the visa officer as I put the job tittle as security guard in the form and company put the tittle security office on the reference letter please advise me.Thanks

Hi Maple_dream,

As long as the PA fulfills the job duties (at least 80%) as mentioned for his NOC code, he is fine. Job titles are irrelevant. Job duties are important.

Your Reference letter is ok.
