In 1997 I did bachelor in computer science from a private college in my home country. The private college was not recognized by local registration authorities at that time. Based on the degree I worked in industry as a software engineer.
In 2002 I got admission in an European state funded university based on my non recognized bachelor degree. I graduated in 2005 from the European state funded university and earned the MSc computer science degree (equivalent to 17 years of formal education). Since 2002, I got overall 4 years of experience as a researcher and assistant researcher from reputed research institutes. I have also 5 scientific publications which are published in refereed international journals and proceedings of international conferences. Currently, I am working as a researcher in USA in a university.
I submitted my application at Buffalo office in January 2008. These days I am getting feelings that the immigration officer may reject my application based on bachelor degree.
The college from I got the non recognized degree has got the different name and it is now become a recognized university (charter granted by my home country govt.) with a different name. I contacted the college administration, and they said they would give me recognized bachelor degree if I take 4 extra courses and pay them around $1000.
My problem is that my application could be rejected on my bachelor degree. Should I take the recognized degree and notify to CIC Bufflo about it. Is'nt a odd that I got bachelor degree after master degree.
Please give me your advice and help me.
