Hello Seniors,

Sorry for this strange question.

I am a PR in Canada and preparing for my wife's family class visa for PR. She is India.

The application file package will consist of numerous forms and unending number of proofs. Is it Ok to submit BOTH-sided forms and photo copies of proofs. This will reduce the weight of the file.

I hope there is NO instruction or expectation to send only SINGLE-sided documents.

Just want to make sure before I start taking prints.

Best Regards

I would do single sided. You can do double sided, but you have to be careful to follow the organization instructions carefully. For example IRCC says:

“The order of documents should be as follows:
  • checklist;
  • open work permit application (and supporting documents), if applicable;
  • any barcode pages;
  • supporting documents, in the order they’re listed on the checklist.”
So if your barcode pages for example contain other information on the back you will mess up the order and make things difficult. So maybe you can make some pages single sided and some double?

It’s your call, IRCC does not say that they prefer single or double sided, but they have special instructions in the guide, like the quote above for example, that are impossible to follow if you print everything double sided.

Thanks DimT44.

You are right I too think that those pages where there are specific instructions I would follow it that way.

But things like mobile bills ,credit card statement, chats screen shots etc...I would do both sided. What do you say ?

Honestly my suggestion is to print everything single sided. The $100 you are paying extra is like insurance that they will see everything and not get confused with some pages being double sided and some being single.

But to answer your specific question, sure you can do that I guess if you really want to. But if I were you I would number all these pages to make sure they see (page 1 of 10)...(page 7 of 10) and etc. This will help them notice that they're double sided.
