Hello,

I received my PR last year. Now that I am married and am ready to start spousal sponsor, I have a question -

"Should I print all of my call logs, chat history, emails?"

I could print everything, not a problem, but the call logs themselves are like 250 pages, even I print both sides they would go like 125 pages. And my chat history will be around 500 pages. So I will be submitting a huge book with almost 1000 pages, which the VO will never go through all of it

Could anybody advise what should I do please - print all, or print some every month or is there a way I can send CIC a softcopy?

Many thanks,
Rick

you should not print everything, but you should write a cover page explaining that you can provide more proof if they want!

My phone bills categorized all long distance calls for each month onto one page so I printed a page for each month and added that into our application and for our skype logs just screen cap'd a few days per month to include.

Have a read of this - http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Spousal_Sponsorship-Canada/FAQ#Appendix_A:_Document_Checklist_-_Immigrant_.28found_in_IMM_3901.29

The FAQ is aimed at British applicants, but a lot of the questions are still applicable for other countries. This is one of them. :)

Basically, just use your judgement - provide enough to get your point across. CIC can always request more.

Include few pages for each month. How many years worth of data do you have ?
If it spans over many years, Include an index [ Year, month, no of pages you have ]. Mention that you have included only few pages but can provide more if requested. Do this for each section Emails, Chat History, Skype calls, Phone calls. This will give an overview of how well you have been communicating.
Also it is important that you demonstrate that the relationship began before you obtained PR ( if that's the case ) as CIC suspects that most relations are entered into for sponsorship.

i just took 2 months worth of log we have lot more but that would be too much
i printed all the emails which there wasn't alot
i didn't print chat logs
i also explained in a paper how we communcated and still communicate

I printed off 18 months of phone records and my husband printed off 4 to 6 months he got from his provider. (All pages) Highlighted each call.

Don't waste time and paper by printing off reams of chat logs. My wife is Russian and is always talking about how strict the world is towards people from her country. When I put our application and evidence together I didn't include a single email, I didn't include any of our Skype communications, I only had about 10 photos printed, we didn't have all boarding passes and passport pages to match up vacation times, and our answers on all the forms were very short and to the point.

The biggest red flags of all; we were married within 6 months of our first email, met in person after 3 months, never spoke on the phone, I only spoke to her mother on Skype, she never spoke to my mother before we applied, our parents didn't come to the wedding, I've never been to Russia to visit her, etc.....

She just received passport request with decision made. My advice is to provide more evidence than I did for your peace of mind, but make it quality evidence over the quantity of evidence. Imagine you work for immigration and have to go through piles of applications every day, would you want to go through 800 pages of someones chit chat? Keep it simple, make it quality, if CIC wants more they will ask you for it.

Those who have submitted hundreds of pages of such evidence have found from their GCMS notes that the majority was simply shredded by CIC. Quality over quantity.
