Hello, I'm in a bit of a weird situation. My husband and I applied for PR through the express entry system and I am the primary applicant in the FSW stream. We submitted the application on September 22.
At the same time, my company in India applied for a work permit and I landed in Toronto last month. Here's where things turned unfortunately messy:
1. On the day I landed in Toronto with my documents, I was supposed to pick up the Work Permit from the Immigration officer. Their printer was broken so they placed a stamp on my passport and said they would send the WP by post. I gave my office address to them to send it to. However, Canada Post have been having repeated delays due to strikes and it's been almost 15 days since I got here and still haven't received the work permit. A colleague who was on the same flight as me did the same thing, and he got his WP in the mail in just under a week.
I went back to the airport yesterday and the staff at Immigration asked me to take it up with Canada Post and that they could not do anything.
How much longer do you think I should wait? I looked at the procedure for getting a replacement and it says it could take upto 4 months to give me a duplicate :( I cannot wait that long as I need that WP to get my SIN and then open a bank account and all that. Right now I have my first paycheck and no bank account to cash it in!

2. I'm staying with a friend until my Husband gets here next February. I would need to update my PR application and let them know about the change in my address right? However, since I am staying here with a friend I cannot give any proof of address. Would that be an issue? Has anyone updated a temporary address in Canada without proof?
