Primary applicant passport expires before secondary applicant

Hi,

I am applying for temporary visitor visa to Canada.

I am the primary applicant and my passport expires in 2021 but my wifes passport expires in 2028.

If i file for my visitor visa as a primary applicant i will get my visitor visa till 2021.

Now my question is will my wife get the visitor visa till 2021 or till 2028?
I dont want her to lose the years because i am the primary applicant.

Should i make my wife as the primary applicant, as she will get visitor visa till 2028 and i will get it till 2021.

well visa validity depends on your documents and circumstances if they are satisfied they can issue visa until PP expiry either there are many cases in this forum where they got 6 months or 1 year visas as well btw what is your travelling history and purpose of visit? i was principal applicant as well but my wife and son got visas until pp expiry which is till 2024 and i got it until 2021 so it doesnt matter who is primary applicant main thing is documentation Good Luck

I have travelled to some countries in Europe and South East Asian countries as a tourist.
The purpose of our current visit to canada is to visit our daughter who resides there.
