I spoke with a friend who said being an Software Engineer I should be the primary applicant because of high demand. However my spouse is more English proficient than me(doing PhD). Upon checking CRS my alternating her as primary applicant I think the profile will get more CRS score and more than the latest cut off CRS. How should one make the decision for the primary applicant in this case?

My husband and I decided after our IELTS score. Mine was higher so the decision clear. However his work experience is less complicated, under same NOC and for continuous 3 years YET I decided to go forward since my CRS score is higher.

I guess my case is almost similar to that of yours except we haven't attempted IELTS yet but I am pretty sure she is gonna score higher than me. But I do have more experience in work industry than her and as you said "less complicated experience". Also since she is pursuing PhD, I am not sure if she will be eligible for permanent job in Canada at the same time. But based on the latest draw result I guess I should be choosing based on actual IELTS score and CRS result?

That's what we did. Clear out all requirements now before applying, like work experience letters & POF, if you feel something could thwart your application later. I was worried about some work experience letters from my companies so I asked for the letters even before sitting for IELTS.

I already have some work experience letters but those are not in particular format. Did you by any chance asked your previous employers in particular format? Also how do you obtain the format or template in which previous employers should give the "work experience letters" ?
