I started the application process for PR under EE twice, but abandoned each application after the ITA stage, so never formally applied (did medicals once). It was a tumultuous time for me personally and professionally; I couldn't handle the uncertainty of the immigration process and chose to leave Canada. I left last year hoping to eventually return through work. I had been in Canada on work permits for 6 years.
However, I met and fell in love with my partner while I was planning my departure from Canada. Wasn't looking to start a relationship, but life has a way of happening. After his first visit to me in Europe we decided to maintain a long-distance relationship and see where it would lead. After many more visits back and forth it has led to us getting married in just under 3 weeks from today.
Though he is willing to come to Europe, we have decided to apply to get me back to Canada. There was potential for my company to bring me back to Canada under a new work permit anyway, but this is now looking less likely.
Will the previous EE applications raise flags that should be addressed in the initial application or would you advise that we just leave this alone.
Any insights as to the likelihood of a smooth application and tips or link to other resources are greatly appreciated. Does anyone know of any refusals or successes in similar cases?
