Hello All.

Quick question about Family Class CommonLaw stream (Outland),

I am a Canadian citizen. My partner is a Australian citizen.

My common law partner has been sponsored in the past by his first serious girlfriend who was his common law partner back in 2003-2005. They are both Australian but she was able to move to London as her grandmother was British and was able to bring my common law partner with her under a partner visa. They ended up breaking up over ten years ago.

My partner and I live in Australia. My partner has lived back in Australia for~9 years and I have lived here for 3 years.

Now the question is, under “have you been sponsored by a common law partner in the past?”, we say yes, right? Even though it wasn’t in Canada? Just double checking, we put it in but wasn’t sure if it is actually what they need or not :)

They are only asking about being sponsored previously to Canada. IRCC doesn't care about sponsorship to other countries.
