Hi,

I want to be prepared just in case i get a ITA the next draw.
What are the things i need to do. I am the main applicant , applying jointly with my wife.

1. I don't have my birth certificate (Affidavit will do?). My wife has her certificate
2. Money in account. Can my father-in-law give me money with a letter declaring its a gift?
3. Police verification. Both for me and my wife OR only me?
4. Medicals. For both of us? How hard it is to get appointment?
5. My company is not going to give me any certificate. Max they will give is employment letter working from XXX-YYY.
Worse my old company has been taken over by another company. And all the people i know have left. I just have relieving letter & experience letter from them. What to do?
6. Anything else i missed?

I am from India if that helps

No birth certificates needed in EE for PA and spouse.

2. Money in account. Can my father-in-law give me money with a letter declaring its a gift?

Yes.

3. Police verification. Both for me and my wife OR only me?

Both of you. For all countries you have lived in for more than 6 months at a stretch since both of you turned 18.

4. Medicals. For both of us? How hard it is to get appointment?

Both of you. Not difficult at all. Don't be in a hurry to get this done, schedule this after you get an ITA. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

5. My company is not going to give me any certificate. Max they will give is employment letter working from XXX-YYY.
Worse my old company has been taken over by another company. And all the people i know have left. I just have relieving letter & experience letter from them. What to do?

Find old colleagues/supervisor to sign a declaration about your experience. In that latter, include everything CIC requires and then get it notarized and upload along with an LOE highlighting the need to do this, business card of the colleague/supervisor and all supporting evidence for such employment. Worst case scenario, notarize a self declaration about your experience and submit that highlighting the need to do this (in the absence of any reference letter from ex-employers), add sufficient documentary evidence about your past employment and politely request the officer to consider your case favorably.

6. Anything else i missed?

Generic checklist ---> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp
You will get a personalized checklist after you get an ITA but you can be prepared based on this.

Hi Asivad,

I received an ITA last night and I was hoping I could get some clarification on the following:

1. I had sent out an application to Ontario just last week, still haven't received an AOR, Bank said they normally cant cancel a draft, in your experience has Ontario agreed to return an application in such cases before.

2. You mentioned that CIC gives a personal checklist, is that after i submit the application for permanent residence in my CIC account.

3. Is there any requirement in terms of the validity of my PP and my families PP. Ontario required that PP should be valid for at least another 2 years.

4. I have lived in UAE for one year back in 2003-2004 but was traveling very frequently back to home country so I never stayed in UAE for a complete six months period. Do I still need a Police certificate?

5. While preparing for my application for Ontario I have more than 1 document for my current job will I be able to upload all of them together. I have email printout from a colleague job contract, bank deposit slips and yes are these sufficient or do I need some sort of signed deceleration from my colleague as well along with her visit card.

6. My colleague is going on a 3 week holiday in Sep, when do you think they start doing the background check and do you think If i have had a total of 6 employers they will be contacting all 6 of them.

6. How is the photograph uploaded, do I need to get a digital copy of the photograph or a scanned copy of a regular print out. I was reading they have some very specific requirements such as getting a stamp from the photographer date etc is that all required.

7. Is there any PDF application guide like the one Ontario had which I thought was really helpful.

Many thanks in advance for your very valuable response on this.

Have a great weekend !!!

Congratulations!

Haven't seen such a report from any member yet, do check the OOPNP thread as well.

2. You mentioned that CIC gives a personal checklist, is that after i submit the application for permanent residence in my CIC account.

You'll get it after filling up the section which asks for all the profile details.

3. Is there any requirement in terms of the validity of my PP and my families PP. Ontario required that PP should be valid for at least another 2 years.

Passports to be valid for at least 6 months on the day when CIC requests it for visa stamping after successfully completing the process.

4. I have lived in UAE for one year back in 2003-2004 but was traveling very frequently back to home country so I never stayed in UAE for a complete six months period. Do I still need a Police certificate?

You don't need one. Just ensure you fill in travel details carefully in personal history for this period.

5. While preparing for my application for Ontario I have more than 1 document for my current job will I be able to upload all of them together. I have email printout from a colleague job contract, bank deposit slips and yes are these sufficient or do I need some sort of signed deceleration from my colleague as well along with her visit card.

This won't be sufficient to replace a reference letter. I've explained this process in detail in a couple of threads just yesterday, look for those.

6. My colleague is going on a 3 week holiday in Sep, when do you think they start doing the background check and do you think If i have had a total of 6 employers they will be contacting all 6 of them.

CIC doesn't call all employers. They would call only when they have concerns on the legitimacy or authenticity of your documents. And it is impossible to know if and when they call.

6. How is the photograph uploaded, do I need to get a digital copy of the photograph or a scanned copy of a regular print out. I was reading they have some very specific requirements such as getting a stamp from the photographer date etc is that all required.

Those were applicable for paper applications. Under EE, one only uploads digital photos. Check the specifications here ---> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf

7. Is there any PDF application guide like the one Ontario had which I thought was really helpful.

You can get all the information you need from the generic checklist.

3 years or more (across NOCs) combined with CLB 9 or above in each section of IELTS.
