Hi there
I am a Canadian Citizen who applied for sponsoring my wife, I have a question as follows:

Our case is approved, and my wife received the "Request of Passport submission" from VO in Ankara. My wife is in her 14th week of Pregnancy, and the deadline to land in Canada is announced as 05 Sep 2013.

First question is, if we have to inform CIC or VO that she is pregnant or we can just take the VISA and land Canada anytime before 05 Sep.

Second question: if for any reason, her Doctor will not allow her to fly, then what measure should we take?

I appreciate in advance, the instrustions.

Kind regards
Sanban

Hello there and congratulations on the PR and the baby

There is no need for you to inform Ankara on her pregnancy unless she had given birth during the immigration process. (My wife is also 20 weeks :) )
But because there is a chance that your OB will not allow her to fly then I would recommend to you to inform your VO asap.
I don't know how fast or if at all Ankara is replying to inquiries but make sure that they know in case you might need to postpone the departure!

Perhaps you should wait until you speak with the doctor before you let your VO know... If she is not given the ok to fly and can't land until after the landing date then you will have to advise the VO and add the baby as a dependant on the application even though the baby is a Canadian citizen.

The other thing to consider is which province you will be living in... since you will probably want provincial health coverage for the birth of the baby.... some provinces require you be in the province for 3 months before you are able to get health care coverage.

So the more time you can land before the birth would be good :)

You are supposed to inform the VO of any changes to your file. If your wife is still there closer to her due date you/she can send a case specific enquiry to let them know of the pregnancy/due date ect.

I don't think the baby would have to be added to the application. If he/or she is a Canadian citizen, then you would apply for a passport after getting the birth certificate. No visa required to travel.

Hopefully she will get the passport back in time to travel. Congrats by the way! Good luck.

*Most airlines allow travel up until the last month of pregnancy. When she is going to travel she should keep a letter ready from her Dr to verify how far along she is, and that she has no immediate health concerns due to the pregnancy. As a precautionary measure, it will help reassure the airline.

Take Care

High Risk Pregnancy

Seniors,

I am a landed immigrant and new to this forum. I am in a very unique and rear situation.

I landed in the month of March 2013 to become permanent immigrant. At that time my wife was busy in her medical training and about two months pregnant. It was planned that she would join me, taking maternity leave, before couple of months of delivery, which is in Sep 2013. Her PR VISA is valid till december2013. Now her pregnancy has become a bit complicated and as of now, gynecologist is against traveling such a long journey ( Pak to Canada). Hopefully it is prayed to Allah that her condition will be able to allow her to take that long journey, if not then she alternatively plans delivery in Pakistan, leaving baby behind ,complete her landing and return back to baby and her medical training which will be completed in 2014.

Please advise if the above plane is feasible if she cannot land before birth then I will sponser baby
And if required grandparents will take care of baby for that period about two years. Mother will visit off and on too.
Regards
