Hello

Mi wife is the principal applicant in our Permanent Resident application. All requested documents were delivered to the Visa Office in Nov 17th, 2010. Last week I went to the Visa Office requesting status and they told me to expect the answer and medical exams notice in the next 3 to 4 weeks. Now here's the issue... My wife is pregnant and the due date is May 27, 2011. My wife is concern about the possibility of a delay in the process when the time to add the new child comes.

1.- What should we do if the medicals are requested before the child is born? Is it possible to request a time extension to take the medicals?
2.- What should we do if the new child is born before the answer and how long does it take to include the new born?

Thanks,

Richard

You said you went to the visa office and got answer about the status. As your wife's delivery is expected in may you should again contact the visa office and request them to make a delay for the medical exam due to the situation.

Hello,Mi wife is the principal applicant in our Permanent Resident application.
hello
i went through the same situation . if you see my time line then you will get the idea. when the visa office requested medicals and we went for completing medicals , the doctor found that my spouse is pregnant then. i did almost all medicals except x-ray of spouse . the DMP sent the report mentioning the pregnancy of spouse and expected date . later , we were requested by the visas office again for taking the x-ray to complete the medical procedure and my spouse took the x-ray with the safe shield .since then we have heard no more from the visa office . now, my spouse is expecting child in this month. seniors, went through the same , suggest that the VO will issue PPR after the birth of the new born and then we need to send additional documents related to the baby . ie: birth certificate, fees, updated application form etc.

you need to inform the visa office as soon as possible via e-mail or paper copy.don't worry , if the issue the medical by the time , then the DMP will found your spouse pregnant and consequently s/he will mention it in the medical paper . you and your spouse will have to take all medical exams except the x-ray part of your spouse for security reasons .you have to wait for the next instruction from the visa office. they may instruct you to take the x-ray just after your baby birth.it seems that your PPr will be delayed as your EDD is so close . and if the visa office think that the air travel is not safe for , then PPR may delay.they will issue PPR after your baby born.

if you receive the meds. then go to the DMP, disclose that she is pregnant , EDD and take it . the doctor will do whatever needed.
wishes for your new born!

Thank you very much imu, and congrats for your wife's pregnancy.

By coincidence, my wife inform this situation to the visa office via e-mail as I was writing my post. They're answer is consistent with your comment. They said my wife can take the medical, except the x-rays, if the medicals are requested before the new child is born. They also instructed to send photos, birth certificate, passport of the new born and pay the fee for the addition of a dependent. We feel more in control now that we know this.

My only questions now is how long it will take for them to process the new born and how long it will take them to request our passports for visa stamp.

Thank you and I wish you success.

inform the visa office soon as the baby born and after sending the docs, it may take no more than 2 months to complete the whole process.
