Hi All,

I have already applied for Spouse visa for my wife. She is in India right now.

I was wondering what happens if she gets pregnant and deliver a baby in India?
Do I have to apply for our baby in separate application (new application)?

What if she comes to Canada on Visitor visa and deliver baby here in Canada?

What about child benefits?

Help Appreciated

Thanks

If she has the baby before landing, then you will need to inform CIC and include the child in the application.

She can have the baby in Canada if she gets a TRV. However she will not qualify for health care, so you should be ready to pay for the costs yourselves. The child would be Canadian.

What If she is 6 month pregnant and got decision made?

Can she fly with 6 month pregnancy to Canada? Or I have ro inform CIC about this before she fly?

Thanks

Permission to fly is up to a physician. Did she have her medical yet? If not, they won't be able to complete the medical (all but x-ray) until after birth...

You only need to inform CIC when the baby is born. Whether she can fly or not is up to her physician.
Note that some provinces have a 3 month wait period for health coverage, so you would need to cover doctor's appointments and possibly the birth out of pocket.
