I have received the COPR this week. I have the below query:

I am 31 weeks pregnant and we had declared the pregnancy during the Medical exam. I am not sure if we needed to declare the same again when we received the PPR.

We are planning to come to Canada in a week or two and just wanted to make sure that the pregnancy won't be an issue.

Please help!

Thanks, given I land in Canada, apply for PR card and return to India for delivery in a week, after baby’s birth can my husband apply for baby’s sponsorship from Canada and we bring here. How long would it take for baby’s sponsorship?

Your pregnancy will not be an issue. However, make sure you get insurance before you land in Canada. After the landing you can return, and later sponsor your baby, but that will take 5 months to a year.

Alternatively, you can also ask IRCC to extend your visa if it is expiring soon and after you baby is born, you can add him to the application and all of you can then land together on the same application.

Also, you can consider giving birth to your child in Canada. This way he will be a Canadian citizen by birth.

If you already declared baby in Application and have your COPR in place why don't you give birth in Canada?

Would suggest you to have delivery in Canada itself, or if you are particular about having delivery in your home country, then delay the landing for both of you till after the baby's birth and inclusion of the baby in your current application. This would save you hassles of sponsorship which may take upto an year.

Thanks for the suggestion, could we add the baby to the application after copr? Our visas are stamped and application have been approved.
What is the process to add baby to our already approved application and how long does it take? Our visa/copr would expire in jan next year, after 8 months.

If we plan to give birth in Canada the insurance will not cover us for first 3 months which would be a costly affair.

Don't land. Have the baby and add him/her to the app. You will need to return your documents to be re-issued. It will take several months to add the child.

Can we get the baby added to already approved application?

How many months can it approximately take?

Okay. What if it exceeds our time limit? Do we need to get the application reprocessed for us, do we need to get the police verification and medical done again?

If it exceeds the date of your medical expiry, IRCC will either extend your medical or request a new one. Your portion of the app will not be re-processed.

Sponsorship or adding baby to the application, which is more convenient and quick?
Adding the baby.

If you choose sponsorship, either you or your spouse must move to Canada to sponsor. If you are unable to get a TRV or TRP for the child, you guys need to be prepared to be apart for up to a year.
