As part of the process of issuing visa, medical exam is mandatory which includes X-Ray. Normally X rays are not to be taken during pregnancy and hence she can apply for WP now and later keep the application on hold prior to the call for Medical test occurs. Once the baby is delivered, medical test results can be submitted and the application process will be resumed. A lot of PR applications also face same scenario and they do it this way. Hope this helps..

Pregnancy while on Temporary Work Permit

I have heard cases that usually when employer gets to know that a woman is pregnant while on Temporary Work permit, they are reluctant to provide the maternity benefits for a TFW(leaves, allowances etc) and hence they force the employee to resign or send them back to their home country.

In this situation can someone help me in providing guidance on what steps should I take if my employer resist to keep me in Job if I am pregnant? Also let me know if there is any support I can seek from the canadian government side to retain my Job?

having an X-ray during pregnancy is generally considered safe. It's highly unlikely that a diagnostic X-ray during pregnancy will harm a developing baby.
Its safer from second trimester

Most X-ray exams — including those of the arms, legs, head, teeth or chest — won't expose your reproductive organs to radiation, and a leaded apron and collar can be worn to block any scattered radiation. The exception is abdominal X-rays, which expose your abdomen — and your baby — to radiation.
