Pregnant after medical exam end of sponsorship process - report to CIC to speed up?

Hello everyone, I have a question which I can't find a relevant answer for anywhere. My husband is sponsoring me Inland (November 2019) in Quebec - he is a Canadian citizen. We already completed and passed the medical exam in December 2020 and then I found out I am pregnant. The application has been stuck on the background check with no updates since we passed the medical exam. I've been to the doctor and we have to pay out of pocket, which is difficult for us.

The doctor told me I need to report the pregnancy to CIC to speed up the process because the hospital is going to want upfront payment soon for me to be able to deliver the baby in August. But from what I've read on forums, etc., it may just complicate things further if we report a pregnancy to CIC. Does anyone have any experience with this or any idea? I feel like it could be any day we could get approval, or it could be a few more months and a lot more money and stress while we wait. Thank you for any responses.

Your application will not be fast tracked because of your pregnancy.

Pregnancy will make no difference to the Immigration process. :/

The doctor knows nothing about immigration. Agree that pregnancy has no implications on processing of spousal sponsorship. Your partner should look for a 2nd job if you can't afford to pay for your pregnancy in yoyr current financial circumstances.

It's hard to tell if your PR will be approved at child birth. With delay of COVID, it's hard to tell how much time will take for the full application to be processed. Did you apply for OWP? Wonder if Quebec have any health coverage with OWP. Or will it be similar to Ontario that you need a job that's 6 months or longer for coverage.

You need to save up and be preapred with the payment up front for delivery.

Update: Just checked that RAMQ doesn't have coverage for open work permit workers...

Thank you for the responses. That's what I figured. I think we should have a decision before the baby is due. Many November 2019 applicants already got decisions and by August that would be nearly 2 years! Either way we will be prepared to pay if we have to.
