The visa office said that they cant request it because, it can only be requested a month to the expiry of the medicals. Is this true or not? When i read the CIC website that's not what it said.

Hello,

Kindly note that reassessment of medicals is only done a month to the expiry of those medicals. Hence in this case the medicals have already expired so she will have to undergo new medical assessment.

Regards,

So, I emailed them this on Friday, So I have to wait till Monday to see if they reply

When the final decision of an officer is pending due only to the expiration of a medical certificate or when the validity of the medical certificate is about to expire and the applicant is unable to land before it expires, the officer will:

Issue medical instructions for a new full routine medical examination done by a panel physician if the IME is older than 15 months;
Also

It is recommended that the officer issue medical instructions for a new full routine medical examination done by a panel physician if the results of additional testing are unlikely to be provided quickly.

If the opinion of the CIC MOF and/orHB delegated staff is that the applicant is:
Admissible on health ground
s: a new medical certificate will be issued and will be valid for a 12 month period starting from the date of the new medical assessment;

My wife falls into this category, JUST REQUEST FOR AN EXTENSION OF THE Immigration Medical Exam!! It will take a few minutes to request it

To update this thread (I hope doing this in several threads I'm involved in will help someone one day):

We had an ultrasound done on Wednesday, confirming everything is fine with me and the baby. We decided, yesterday, to let the embassy know through a case specific enquiry.

This morning we had a call from them, in which they informed me they had gotten my email. They said that after checking my application, they were ready to issue my visa, but I had to choose: I either landed before May 25th, or I waited until after the baby is born so that I could redo my medicals. They said that since my medicals expire on May 25th, and them being "so old", they didn't think they could get them extended (I had never heard that, but I didn't make a fuss).

Needless to say, we're flying to Canada within 3 to 4 weeks :D

I never expected the pregnancy to work in our favour, but I guess in this case it did :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy and your good news.

I just want to add our part here too

My spouse is 16 weeks and although she had a very difficult beginning (hyperemesis gravidarum) she is doing ok now.
We too had decided to inform our VO in Vienna although we haven't got an AOR yet but we have her file number so we made a Case Specific Inquiry"
The VO system mailer send us back an automated reply for receiving the notice. I do hope they will eventually notice it and enter it into her profile.
Her meds expire January 2014 so there is enough time for our apps to be approved before the meds do expire.

Regards to all
