Preferred visa process_Before or after marriage

Hi,

I got offer letter from university for Sep, 2016 intake. I am getting married this Jun, 2016. I would like to take my wife along with me to Canada using dependant/open work permit visa. Our parents are ready to prepone the wedding date if that will benefit our visa processes. But I am confused which one to prefer?

Option 1. Applying study permit for me as single and after marriage applying dependant visa for my wife.
Option 2. Marrying her immediately, and then applying the study permit for me and the dependant visa for her at the same time.

Please advice me which one has high visa success rate. Also tell me the pros and cons of both options.

I will say option 3 apply study visa for her also with a single profile not being married. That option gives some decent chance to get visa from India. Spouse open work permit visa or visitor visa is not impossible but lots and lots of rejections in India.

Thank you for your reply. But we need letter of acceptance for her from any university to apply for study permit right?

I have an another question. My father in law is sponsoring me for all my expenses. Without marrying is it possible? Is there any rule that only relatives can sponsor?

Yes need offer letter to apply for study permit. Show the funds on your name or parents, anybody else supporting you financially will weaken your visa chances.

1. There is nothing called a 'dependent visa'. Spouse must apply for a separate TRV or OWP (that include TRV as well), and send both applications together in one envelope. To get approved, is purely based on the individual profile.
2. Its "almost" impossible to get approved without having a certified study loan (India), no matter who is sponsoring you. A certified loan is itself a proof of your established status in country.
