My wife and I are nearing the end of completing our PR Visa paperwork and I have a couple of questions.

1. My wife has applied in the past for a tourist visa to Canada, she was given a UIC number at this time. Do we need to use this number again for her information on our PR paperwork?

2. My other question is about my wife's medical and police checks. How long are they valid for and what is the best time to get these for her?

Thanks for any answers I appreciate your time.

1. Not necessary, but if you have it she can put it on the form. I had one, but left it blank, and in ecas it later showed that number which means it stays the same even if you do not input it.

2. If you apply inland, they request medicals later. If you do outland, you need to submit it upfront. It is only valid for a year, so I would do it right before you send it in, or as close to it as you can.

The police checks are valid for three months. They need the application in Mississauga before 3 months have gone by. Meaning, if you send it on March 25th and they receive it March 27th, the checks have to be dated December 28th or later.
