PR Visa on Cancelled Passport

This is regarding a query on the Canada COPR that I received on and have the Canada visa stamped on my passport. My current passport will expire soon and I plan to renew it before I land in Canada in June 2019. If anyone with experience please confirm that there are no landing issues in case my original passport has been cancelled and I have the visa on it and it will be considered valid for completing the landing process.

Also, even though the landing city is mentioned to be Vancouver in the COPR, can I land in Toronto instead?

Your existing IM-1 visa is still valid. Just take both your old and new passports with you.
Landing at Toronto is fine.
