PR Visa expiration from date of issue

quick question to all those who got their PR visas issued, how long is the expiration date from the date of issue (6 months up to 1 year?) just thinking of asking my wife to come to Canada first so we could settle in and get the kids before the expiration date of their visas.

The visas are valid till the date your medicals expire. BUT as a primary applicant you need to finish your landing first, your wife and kids cannot do the landing before you. !!! hope this helps

The date you received your medicals is considered as the received date. It is valid for 1 year. For instance, if you received your medicals on 14th May 2013 then it will be valid till 13th May 2014.

Just to add, the visa validity is 12 months from the date of medical test or upto passport expiry, whichever is earlier. I hope this helps,
