I, with visitor visa, need to start my Phd study asap, and am preparing study permit. However, I already have my medic exam done in Jan. 2015. Is it still worth for me to apply study permit or just wait for the PR?
If apply the study permit, do i have to do the medic exam again or I can waive it. Thanks

After medical it won't take more then 4~6 month. Best to wait and let your uni know.
Also there is fees diffrence if u studying as PR compare to one on SP.
But if you think you can not wait then you can apply for study permit. just link your PR file number and medical detail explaning why you can not wait longer for your PR to start your PHD.
Remember you need all formalities of International student Like funds ,Ielts academic etc. And Visa officer can reject your application stating that he doubt you will return to home country. you also need to mention Dual intent in sop. But i suggest keep things simple and wait for PR. Unless youthink there may be some complication for you in getting PR on class you already applied.
