Is it possible that I can use my COPR to purchase a one way ticket. Am asking because am due to travel in July and I see that there's a "Not valid for Travel" water mark on the document.

It depends. If the one-way ticket is for departing Canada, then your passport will suffice for travel. If you are planning on heading back to Canada then COPR won't be sufficient. You may need to fly to the US and then go for a land crossing.

I am not getting into any discussions around your PR status because lately these discussions have devolved into pseudo-legal debates on other threads ;)

1. If you are coming to Canada to "land" then a one way ticket and your COPR are fine. Just into the cost of a return ticket, it maybe cheaper than a one way.

Exactly. In fact, don't you have a single entry immigrant visa stamped in your passport?

1. Yes, but you will need either your PR card or obtain a Travel Document to return to Canada.

You can obtain COPR for the first time only in the process of landing. Not before it.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I was allowed to purchase a one way ticket and has since land safely into Canada.
