hi all,

my situation is i have lived in canada from 2007 to 2010. i have married a Canadian and she sponsored me, currently i have my PR and i would like to apply for a citizenship but one of the requirement is for me to stay three years in the past 4 years in order for me to apply.

please note that iam with my wife currently residing in Saudi Arabia.

the question is, does my stay from 2007 to 2010 count ? can i apply now ? or i have to go and stay in canada for three years to apply?

is there a way ?

It has to be three years out of the four years ending on the date you applied for citizenship. Also, a new law has been passed last year changing that to four years out of six and you must be physically present in Canada for more that half the year in four of those years. Under the new law you must also prove that you “intend to reside” in Canada. The date of the law coming into effect has not yet been fixed, but it's expected to be this spring or summer.
