How long after submitting an application for PR does it usually take before they send you a personalised document checklist/ how long before you have to upload the documents?

After you get an ITA you get a checklist. You upload the documents THEN you submit.

There is no timeline after that. According to CIC its 6 months. It depends on each and every individual case.
