Hi to everyone who are joining in this forum site,

I am reading some of the post regarding spousal sponsorship to understand and learn more of how long PR spousal visa application be granted to applicants.
I'm from the Philippines me and my husband were married May 8, 2013 we sent our application last August 2013, and CIC received our application Oct 3,2013.
As i am always checking the status of our applications on CIC website it says there, that Philippines processing time for spousal sponsorship will be 14 months, we are now on our 8 months since the day they received our applications. my question is this, before we sent our application to CIC we read the whole entire procedures and it says that if we pay the whole amount for the visa application the processing time will be much faster, but why until now we do not hear anything from the Canadian embassy of when are they going to request for our passport, i want to understand the whole process regarding our applications. i hope anyone out there can answer me and help me with my inquiry. Thanks everyone may we all reach our goals to be with our loved ones.
Best regards to everybody who are also on the same boat as mine.....God Bless!

Paying the whole fee at the beginning makes the process faster in this way: if you do not pay the RPRF at the beginning, the visa office will request you to pay it at the end of processing (if they decide to issue the PR visa). Paying at the end like this adds two months or more to the processing time - who knows why, really, but it does delay things. So paying at the beginning doesn't mean your processing time will be faster than the 14 months listed; it just means the processing time will not be delayed by two or more months. 8 months is a normal time frame, unfortunately.
