Hi

Does anyone have any idea how the process works for sponsoring a parent?

I am a permanent resident and my spouse is Canadian, we filed the papers to sponsor my 72yr old Mother in April 2010. I know they are currently processing Sept 2007 so we anticipate some waiting.

However, on the CIC web site it states that 51 months is the average processing time and for London UK there is 22 months. So is that a total??? 51 months for the Canada process and another 22 months for the UK process?? 73 months all together?

Anyone got any advice or similar scenarios to share i would be really grateful

Janet :)

Yes - 73 months is the approximately total.

oh wow, a lot longer than i had originally thought.

I am hoping that with the recent changes and seeing that they are no longer accepting any new (parent) applications that they maybe process these applications a little quicker.

Thanks for the reply :)

You can try for super Visa.
