Hello,
I have some important questions and i hope you could answer them with details
I took the Canadian PR in june 2008 and it expired in June 2013. I went to Canada for only two weeks in these 5 years. i am a minor and we had to leave canada for my dad because he had some work issues. Now in almost october 2016 ill go to canada for university
1- Is it possible to renew the PR?
2- Some people said i should i apply for travel document is it true?
3- lets say the travel document worked and i went to canada, when should i apply for PR renewal?
4- When should i apply for the travel document before going to canada?
5- should i apply as a national or international student?
6- Do you think the PR renewal will get accepted, and if it didn't what should i do in relation to the university fees?
7- what should i write in the travel document when i apply?
I hope someone answer these questions with details
Thank you

You should apply for a PR travel document 6 months before you want to go. Write in your application that you were removed from Canada as a minor by your parents and now want to return as young adult, study and settle in Canada.

If you are granted a travel document, you can go to Canada as a still PR and apply to renew your PR card and you would apply to college as a PR student.

If you are denied, you can appeal but if you lose the appeal, you would lose your PR but could apply for a study permit in order to go as an international student.

DO you mean i should i apply for the travel document at least 6 months before going like i could apply to it now, or you mean it is possible to apply to it like 4 months before going.
And the travel document is denied or pr renewal is denied?
And what should i write in the appeal?
plus overall do you think they'll accept my renewal and the travel document?
How much time does it take to renew the pr, and i directly apply for renewal or after 2 years?

The travel document is normally only valid for 6 months so you should not apply for it now if you are not ready to go until 2016.

It can take some time to get it too so you should not leave it too late either.

You can not apply for PR renewal from outside Canada so a travel document is the way for immigration to make a decision if you get to keep your PR or not in spite of not meeting the residency obligation.

A travel document will allow you to travel to Canada if it's granted. Once in Canada, you can apply for a PR card.

As I said before, write that you were removed from Canada as a minor and now wish to return, study and settle in Canada for good.

Being removed as a minor usually gives you pretty good odds of being approved for a travel document. The PR card renewal should not be denied if you were granted a travel document.

It can take several months to renew. You can apply right away instead of waiting for 2 years.

So if my TD was granted and i went to canada, my PR will surely be renewed when i apply to it? And when applying for the TD, will there be space to write that i was removed as a minor or thats only in the appeal? And whats the processing time of the TD?

As there is not a lot of space on the form, write your own letter and include along with the form. Processing time depends on the visa office. You'd have to ask them.

You shouldn't leave Canada until they renew your PR because even though you were granted a travel document once doesn't mean they would grant one a second time. The one TD is giving you the chance to do what you say you want to do, to go to Canada in order to settle. If you don't settle and end up applying for another TD later, they will feel that you are not serious in your intentions.

It would be advisable to remain in Canada for two years or at least make your absences short because if your PR card is lost or stolen while you are overseas and you end up needing to apply for another TD, if you already have your 2 years and meet the RO, you would have no problem getting one. If you don't meet the RO but can say that you are settled in Canada but took a short vacation at home to visit the folks, they would be more likely to give you one than if you were to stay you spent a couple of months in Canada and are now in your home country for unspecified months.
