Hi Leon,
My spouse has applied for PR card renewal in April 2013 after fulfilling PR obligations (over two years stay in Canada after expiry of PR card date). While her PR renewal was in process, she had to travel due to emergency situation (health condition of family member). She contacted immigration office in Canada to explain the situation and requested urgent processing. They asked her to send the copy of the air ticket and other details be email. She did so on 18th June along with the doctors note. Due to emergency situation (family member admitted in ICCU), she couldn't wait and she had to travel on 19th June 2013. She received email from Immigration office staining that the ticket is expired and requested to submit another valid ticket. As she has already travelled she can not submit another ticket. She has a return ticket to travel back to Canada by end August. Under this circumstances, could you please advise the following.
1. Since she can not provide another ticket, will the Immigration office stop processing her PR renewal normally if not urgently.
2. Can she receive the PR by post after normal processing (in Canadian address)which she can get though friend and use it for her return travel to Canada?
3. If above doesn't happen, will she need to request for travel document. What is the likely hood of approval.
Thank you,
Susa
