PR Renewal Online Application Address History Date Gap Question

I'm in a dilemma while filling up 4.1 Address History (Inside and Outside Canada) for IMM5444.
What do I write on dates so that they are continuous. It asks me to leave no gaps.

Canada From 2/10/2020	To 11/29/2020
India From 11/30/2020	To 7/13/2022

My flight left Canada at 11:55 pm on 29 November 2020 and landed in India on 30 November 2020

When writing the dates as mentioned, I get the error " Please leave no gaps in your address history "

The "From" column for 5.5 in IMM 5444 is for date of exit from Canada. The "To" column is for the date of return to Canada.

So, if you departed Canada at 11:55 pm on 29 November 2020, the "from date" for that trip is 11/29/2020; for that trip the "to date" is the date you returned to Canada, that is the date you arrived and cleared customs in Canada.

You do not list dates in-between the date of exit from Canada (the "from date") and the date of return to Canada (the "to date").

In particular, dates of arrival or exit from any country other than Canada do not get listed. Just dates of exit from Canada and dates of arrival in Canada. (For each period outside Canada, list countries entered in addition to primary destination in the "locations" column.)

Sorry.

Generally a person's primary residential address continues to be their residential address until they have established residence at a different address. So the "to" date for one will be the same as the "from" date for the next address.

So, it is almost certainly OK to list the "to" date the same as the "from" date for the next address (chronologically) UNLESS there is a formal or official termination of the prior address before establishing a new address . . . here that would mean listing the "to" date for the Canadian address as 11/30/2020 rather than 11/29/2020.

Similarly, it is generally OK to list the "to" date the same as the "from" date if there is only a brief period of time between vacating a residence and establishing the next residence.

The main thing is to give information that honestly reflects where you have lived, to not be deceptive.

Had the same issue and spend 1 hour to figure it out what is wrong.

Hi Abhinav, I am facing the same issue. Were you able to work out a resolution of the dates continuity error and process your application online? I will really appreciate if you could clarify.

Had the same issue and spend 1 hour to figure it out what is wrong.
