Me and my family came to Canada in Apr 2020, and we got our PR in Nov 2021. We have continuously stayed in Canada till Mar 2024, when I have to move to the USA due to work. From Mar 2024 till Jun 2024, my family was still i Canada and I stayed with them during weekends and holidays. After Jun 2024, my family also moved to the USA. Since then we occasionally go to Canada for day trips 2-3 time every month.

Our PR is due for renewal in Nov 2026 and we have already stayed in Canada for around 900 days starting from Nov 2021 (last 5 years from Nov, 2026) till Jan 2025.

I wanted to know if my PR renewal can get rejected since we no longer have a permanent residence and the number of days stayed in Canada has drastically reduced since we moved to the USA.

If you are not compliant with your RO when you apply to new your PR card yes it will start the process of losing your RO. If you are compliant not issues. You can only apply to renew your PR card while in Canada and I would also expect you to have to pick up the card in person if approved to verify you are still compliant with your RO. The one caveat would be if you were temporarily transferred to the US by your Canadian employer and will return to your job in Canada.

Could you explain what does RO mean? I was on a work permit while in Canada and got my PR in CEC.

For filing for renewal, do I need to be in Canada from the time of filing to the time of decision or can I file, leave Canada, and later collect the card once it is ready again in Canada?

My current employer is based in USA.

You must be physically inside of Canada to submit the application to renew your PR cards.

On the day you submit the application, you must meet the residency obligation or you can expect the application to be refused. If the application is refused, this will result in the loss of your PR status.

Residency obligation. After you become a PR you must spend 730 days minimum in Canada out of every rolling five year period to keep PR.

Time spent in Canada on a work permit does not count towards this requirement.

Since I have already spent almost 900 days from Nov, 2021 till today, I would meet the Residency Obligation of last 5 year period when my renewal is due next year Nov 2026. I will also be able to submit the renewals application from Canada. So, is it fair to assume that my PR renewal would go through or do I need to fulfill any other conditions?

So you will still meet your RO when you apply to renew your PR card in 2026 (you probably want to apply a few months before your current card expires).
But if you continue your employment and live in US, you will eventually NOT meet your RO. (730 days in previous 5 years)
What bugs me is that you didn't wait till you meet the requirement to apply for citizenship. Anyway, it's personal choice.

You shouldn't have any problem to apply for a new PR card while you visit Canada and have it mailed to a Canadian address.
You may be required to pickup your card in person.

You will start no meeting your RO if you continue to spend time living in US.

Thank you for your quick response. I am fulfilling the 3 year requirement for citizenship also (1/2 days considered from Apr 2020 to Nov 2021 as I was working) but not sure if I can apply from outside of Canada.

You should apply while you are in Canada.
Then there is currently no rule that you cannot leave after you applied.
You need to take the test and the oath ceremony inside Canada as well.
