My family and I immigrated to canada in 2009 but after five months of stay we had to leave canada because we exhausted all our funds and neither my wife nor I could find a job to support our family because the job market at that time was at its low. We tried to go back within the next two years but we were misguided by the Canadian high commission in Islamabad regarding the birth of our youngest child and consequently we couldn't go back because it was impossible to leave our infant behind and go to canada. As our PR cards have expired, I have a couple of questions, I need answers for.
1. Can we get a visitors visa just for a short holiday in Canada.
2. Two my children, 11 and 16 years old want to go for studying in canada. Is it possible for them to renew their PR cards when they turn 18 since they were minors when we brought them back from Canada.
3. Is there any way we can renew our PR cards.
Your help would be highly appreciated.
Regards.

1. Only if you officially renouce your PR status first.
2. Yes.
3. You would need to obtain a US visitor visa, fly to the US and then try to re-enter Canada by land using your COPR. Your youngest child will need to obtain a Canadian TRV as well. If you are allowed into Canada without being reported, you would need to remain in Canada for two years straight before applying to renew your PR cards. During this time it may be difficult for you to obtain access to certain services - like health care. You will not be able to sponsor your youngest child for PR until the two years have passed and you qualify to renew your PR cards. If you are reported at the border for failing to meet residency requirements, then you'll have to appear at a hearing and can expect your PR status to be revoked (at which point you'll have to leave Canada).
