Hi all,
Initially, about 10 years ago my mother applied for a PR application for my granny and it was rejected due to not meeting the LICO. It was our fault as we never updated cic about my father's death and change of family size for my mother being only 2 members including my grandmother. Past is past.

Since, than we applied on 3 occasions for visitor visas are were refused.

All the refusal information goes back to
1."no travel history", "
2. "strong family ties in Canada and weak ties and establishment in India",
3. "also the fact that we applied for PR and was refused".

Now, my grandmother is 80 years old and since her refusal for PR many years ago, a lot has changed. She does not wish to live in Canada, as she counts her time down to her departure from earth. But she still wants to see Canada and see our livelihood here. We are aiming for asuper visa for this July, 2018 when our new nephew is coming.

So, thank you for reading up until here....

Now, My question for you: What can I do to show that she is not going to stay here.
1. I was planning to add all her step-children names in her application. We have never done that before, I do not know why. Do you think I should do that now? Because her only child from her first spouse is my mother, and she is here along with 3 children (my brother and my sister) and 5 grandchildren.
2. I was also going to literally write a separate letter titled:"Family Ties and reason to return" Trying to convince the visa officer, why my grandmother is not planning to stay in Canada. Which includes her religious ties, her ageing, her common-law-partner and her step-children, her house and more...her house, Canadian weather. What do u think?

Any other ideas?

Many thanks for your time and your kindness.

Hi,

1. I recommend you order GCMS notes for the last TRV refusal to start with.

2. Before you file her super visa application, I recommend she goes through all the tests for a super visa medical from a panel physician (sort of like a 'practice' super visa medical examination, but not upfront medicals) This will determine whether or not she will clear the super visa medicals later.

3. You may also want to check if she will be able to get a minimum insurance coverage of CAD 100,000 (for her age + any pre-existing medical conditions).

4. IMO, your mom (her only biological child) and you/your siblings (direct biological family) will continue to ensure that her 'family ties to Canada' are stronger than those to her home country.

Maybe factors like how long has she been in the common-law relationship + her ability to demonstrate family ties to her step-children, could help.

Also, applying for a super visa means she can stay away from her step-children/their families for 2 years (on initial entry) = It implies she doesn't have strong family ties to them.

IMO, all of these reasons mentioned by you - except her house - will not work.

If granted a super visa (and if the CBSA officer allows it), she can stay for 2 years. This, in itself, implies that the reasons you cited won't work i.e. it would imply she has weak ties to her common-law partner/the step children, her religious ties, and she is prepared to brave the Canadian weather.

IMHO, I think you must follow through with suggestions 1-3 before you apply for a super visa

Cheers
