Hello Experts,

I have few queries regarding applying PR visa for Canada.

1. If I apply PR Visa before 1 Jan 2015 ( that is using old rules ) in that case does I am still eligible for CIC Express Entry? and can I re-apply after 1 Jan 2015?

2. If I waited and apply PR VISA under Express Entry after 1 Jan 2015, would it be possible to me apply again in a OLD way (i.e process before 1 Jan 2015) ?

please provide me complete details with possibilities and cost incurred in re-applying PR VISA in any way.

Is CIC going to drop old rules for applying PR Visa after 1 Jan 2015 when Express Entry introduced ?

Please assist on in complete details.

Hi,

We are all puzzled just like you. We don't know about the rules they are going to apply in 2015! But one thing is certain, and that is if you apply under current rules, your application will be processed under current rules. Say for example, if you file in your application tomorrow and they receive it on Monday, if they change the rules on Tuesday, they will process your application under old rules not the new ones. And if you re-apply on Wednesday, they will process your application under new rules.

They usually mention a date on CIC website on which the rules will take effect.

Best of luck,

so Rules will applies to those applicants that PR Center received on particular date and not from the Date of application submission ?

for example - I applied tomorrow 6 dec online - my application processed under what ever rule on 6th december. even though submitted package received by PR Center on 15th December..

am understanding correct ?

The date will be the date on which they 'receive' your application. Not the date you post it.
In the case of online application, it is the date that you submit your application. The date that indicates the transaction of data has been done.

Think about it for a while, the date is the date that they receive your application, digital or paper.

Don't stress yourself out on these small issues, you'll be fine, I promise.
