Hi,

I want to apply child benefit. Me and my spouse doesn't met PR obligation of 730 days. If we apply to child benefit, may Canada revenue agency give information to IRCC? May this affect to our PR status negatively?

They need your consent before they can release such information.

CRA accepting your proof of family income for the past 1-2 years while abroad can be an issue. Assume you notified CRA when you moved abroad if you ever filed taxes in Canada.

Hi
Thanks for reply. Unfortunetely we have not informed CRA with a letter. We dit it over phone. Besides, In earlire when I returned to Canada, I show money in my bank account which paid by CRA as a child benefit. We made a call to CRA and informed about it several time, but they dont take back the amount. They told us we can use tge amount.

I wouldn’t spend the money

CRA will eventually recoup it

If the agent was doing there job they should have made a case and sent it off to enforcement. To recoup the monies you shouldn’t of received

You should actively working with CRA to try to repay them to avoid penalties and clawbacks.

Hi,
I dont need this money. I can repay this money back. My question is: If I will apply to child benefit, will CRA inquery anything from IRCC, and may it affect my status? Because I have not met PR 730 days obligation
