PR Obligation be met or not?

Hi Leon...

I along with my family did our landing n Feb 2011. Since then, we did not go back to Canada. My question is whether we still meet the PR obligation if we move to Canada in June 2013 and by June 2015 we become eligible for applying for citizenship?

As a PR, you are allowed to be outside Canada up to 3 years total without losing your PR. If you landed in February 2011 and go back in June 2013, you will have 2 years and 4 months outside Canada so you are still ok. You will not be eligible to apply for citizenship in 2015 if you come back in 2013. You need 3 years in Canada for that so you can apply in June 2016 if you never leave Canada the entire time. If you take vacations outside Canada, you must stay longer to make up for it.
